Om Sai Ram,

On Sunday, September 1st, 2024, the "SMILE" program of SSSGC Jakarta successfully held its annual "SMILE Fun Fair" event at Mahatma Gandhi School in Kemayoran, Jakarta. The event took place from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and was eagerly anticipated by the students, teachers, and all the teams involved.

The "SMILE" program, which stands for Serving Mankind Inspires Love Everywhere, was established in 1998 with the noble aim of providing English education to underprivileged children. However, beyond language instruction, this program also seeks to instill universal and non-religious human values, fostering strong character development in the children who will one day become the foundation of our nation’s future. The core mission of the SMILE Team is "To Promote Education That Builds a Strong Character in Children, As They Are the Future of Our Nation."

Currently, the SMILE Program serves 105 students who are guided by 20 dedicated teachers. These classes are held every Sunday morning from 8:45 AM to 10:30 AM, where students not only learn English but are also encouraged to internalize the noble values taught through various interactive activities.

One of the program’s flagship activities is the "SMILE Fun Fair," an event designed to combine fun and learning in a joyous atmosphere. This year, the Fun Fair was held with a theme that emphasized joy and togetherness. The event began with an opening ceremony led by the SMILE Team, followed by an inspiring welcome speech from Bro Johnny Wong, President of SSSGC Jakarta, who energized all the participants and volunteers in attendance.

The success of this event was not solely due to the efforts of the SMILE Team but was also significantly supported by the Mahila Wing and the Sai Young Adults team. The collaboration between these different wings ensured that every aspect of the event was well-organized and meaningful. Children and other participants enjoyed a variety of games, educational activities, and entertainment, all designed to provide an experience that was not only fun but also enriching.

With the full support of everyone involved, the "SMILE Fun Fair" this year successfully created an atmosphere filled with laughter and happiness, while reinforcing SSSGC Jakarta’s commitment to serving and educating those in need. The photographs taken during the event vividly capture the lively atmosphere and the enthusiasm of all participants, affirming that the event’s goals were achieved excellently.

We hope that this event not only provided momentary joy but also left a lasting impression and had a positive long-term impact on everyone involved, especially the children who are part of the SMILE program.

Jai Sai Ram.
